hi. i'm derek.

derek is 25 years old. he lives in morgantown, west virginia and was born and raised in pittsburgh, pennsylvania. he has been doing graphic design for, geez, like 9 years now? he’s an old man but he’s incredibly passionate about what he does.

he loves all areas of media creation. publication design is probably his favorite thing to work on, followed closely by creating clothing. last time i talked to him, he said a dream project of his is to work with chefs to design cookbooks.

derek also is good at other things like social media content creation and writing and design for emails. he also loves to write writing and collaborate with others.

adobe illustrator and indesign are where he feels the most at home, and he’s getting more comfortable with after effects and premiere. he’s also familiar with figma and only getting better.

he writes and designs a bi-weekly zine called “no good tuesday!” and runs a small clothing brand called “take it easy” in his spare time.

when asked, he’ll probably say his favorite food is a california style burrito with chicken and whatever the spot’s house hot sauce is, but he will settle for a 10pc (20 if its a good day) mcnugget meal and a diet coke.
